Some are made with the finest
fabrics and leather
stretched on to exotic wood
built by skilled craftsmen or
designed by famous architects

mine was handed down
revealing nicks from the past
and worn areas from sitting
a blemish here...
a spill from a hard days drink?

it's not one that i would choose
if i were to pick one out
but, i'm fortunate to have it
it's comfortable and solid
there are many worse off
than this

i'm just going to keep it
as nice as i can
maybe refinish and
reupholster it some day

but, i think i will always
leave the nicks in the wood
as a reminder
of who i am
